| Job Description : Haven Recreation is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to serve as referees/umpires for our programs. Referees/umpires will set up equipment, officiate games, supervise participants and spectators, and help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment. This part-time role is under the supervision of the Recreation Director and takes place at public sports fields. Knowledge of game rules, dispute resolution, and basic equipment care is essential. Job Summary: Recreation Sports Referee
Primary Function:
Set up and officiate designated sports events under the supervision of the Recreation Director, with some independence in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment and officiate games.
- Supervise participants and spectators.
- Assist with cleanup and facility closure.
- Follow all city policies and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Rules and officiating techniques for designated sport.
- Basic equipment maintenance.
- Conflict resolution.
Abilities:
- Communicate effectively with staff, coaches, and the public.
Experience & Training:
- Any combination of experience and training that provides the necessary skills and knowledge.
