PAINT HAVEN PROGRAM

The purpose of this program is to provide assistance to income-eligible homeowners in the City of Haven to enable them to repair the exterior of their homes and alleviate deteriorating housing conditions within the City.  The creation of Paint Haven came about after the City's adoption of the 2009 International Property Maintenance Code, which requires home exteriors to be painted.

Homeowners interested in receiving assistance to paint the exterior of their home must complete the Paint Haven application and turn it and required attachments in to the Haven City Office at 120 S. Kansas Avenue.  Applications are available in the office and here.

Each application submitted to the City will be reviewed.  Paint Haven is operated on a first come, first serve basis and gives priority to structures in the greatest need of paint.  The City reserves the right to decline consideration of any and all applications if eligibility requirements are not met or if funding is not available within a calendar year.  Declined applications may be kept on file and considered the following calendar year.

Once an application is approved, the applicant will be notified and a "before" picture of the structure will be taken by the City.  The applicant will be provided a list of approved paint suppliers and given 90 days to paint the exterior of the structure. Once the painting is complete, the applicant may bring in an itemized receipt and the City will reimburse up to $300 for paint only.  Finally, an "after" photo of the completed project will be captured.
